Baptism of Our Lord

by Fr. Boniface Endorf, O.P.

Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,

I hope that everyone had a wonderful and grace-filled Christmas Season! Today, the Baptism of Our Lord, is the end of the Christmas Season. Yes, that means you can now get rid of any dried-out trees. Today we celebrate Christ’s baptism of repentance by John the Baptist in the Jordan river, when Christ joined Himself to us even in penance and from which His public ministry would begin.

At St. Joseph’s we have one last Christmas present for everyone: the parish bell is back!! Our wonderful, top of the line, 19th-century bell is again fully functional and ringing. It now being the 21st century, we also have a remote control for it so that we can peel the bell during weddings and toll it during funerals. Listen for the bell – it rings on the hour during the day. Merry Christmas!

God Bless,

Fr. Boniface
