Dear Friends,
With great enthusiasm, we welcome our new Archbishop Timothy Michael Dolan who was installed this week. I am sure that many of you were able to see it on TV and get an idea of what he is like. His experience as a diplomat at the Apostolic Nunciature to the United States, his role as rector of the North American College in Rome, and subsequently, his six years as the Archbishop of Milwaukee have all prepared him well for his new calling as Shepherd of the flock of New York. Before arriving in New York, Archbishop Dolan called to say that a visit here to St Joseph’s was high on his agenda. I will keep you informed.
This weekend I am away in Washington D.C. for the dedication of a new library and classroom wing at our Dominican Pontifical Faculty of Theology this Sunday, April 20th. While other seminaries are shrinking we are blessed with many vocations to our Dominican way of life.
Please pray for an increase in vocations to the religious life and priesthood.
Sincerely,
John P. McGuire, O.P.
Pastor
