Organ Concert: Maurice Clerc
Maurice Clerc has been the titular organist of the Saint Benignus Cathedral in Dijon for more than 40 years. He was also a professor to the Conservatory of Dijon and lecturer at the University. Maurice Clerc has recorded a dozen CDs, including music from Bach and German baroque masters. Having built up itself a reputation in the romantic and modern repertory and considered one of the specialists of French organ music, he became attached to the promotion of the major works of Franck, Vierne, Dupré, Fleury, and Langlais. In his most recent recordings, he presented Cochereau and French transcriptions. Maurice Clerc is Chevalier in France’s Legion of Honor.
